My name is Alice, I have always been around horses growing up and be fascinated with how they move and the fluidity of them.
When I was 14 I got my first horse, a ex-race horse called Jacaranda and worked hard to retrain him and also learnt a lot about how the muscles within him had to redevelop and increase his own fitness. we went into Show jumping where we competed up to 1m5.
I attended Bicton College at 16 years old and graduated with a level 3 extended diploma in equine management, I learnt about the biology of the horse and discovered the joy of studying equine anatomy. After College I Joined the British Army where I was a Gunner in the Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery, our responsibility was to look after the horses used for gun salutes and other ceremonial duties.
Within the Kings Troop I was able to compete in the "Troop Race" three times, placing every year, and able to compete in the Royal Yeomanry Race.
Whilst in the Army I Applied to Wolds Equine Massage Therapy course which quickly became a passion and new lifestyle for me which I was then dedicated to and wanted to immediately strive to be better at and become a skilled and well rounded masseuse. I was overjoyed when I completed in March 2020 and accredited with UK rural skills.
In July 2020 I was also delighted to complete a Centre Of Excellence course on Equine Behaviour and Psychology, in which I was awarded a distinction grade.
I am currently attending Greenwich University to study Equine sports therapy and rehabilitation to aid in widening my knowledge, to be a better horsewoman and hopefully progress onto a Masters degree.
I am passionate in the welfare and rehabilitation of horses in any discipline and background and as a dedicated horsewoman I am constantly studying new theories and methods to ensure that all my work is up to date with modern practices.
